The other day a few friends and I were talking about teams we “hate” and the usual suspects came up of course… Vancouver, Toronto, Pittsburgh, Detroit… but to be honest I don’t really hate on any team in the NHL.
Except Nashville. The team, it’s coach (seriously, where is his neck?!) and the fans (with all due respect for the few Nashville fans I do converse with and I’m sure most if not all are ok people, but as hockey fans I do not care for them) there really is nothing redeeming about the whole situation they have going on in Nashville and when they aren’t busy blowing (whistles) for Jordin Tootoo then they cheer on Cortland Finnegan who is an even bigger douche-nozzle.
So in summary. Nothing good about Nashville Predators.
Except that jersey. I love that sweater!
I’ve had a few Stars fans ask me if I’m kidding and I really am not. Whoever designed that uniform crushed it out of the park. I’m so tired of the same old colors in hockey. Red. Maroon. Blue. Navy Blue. Powder/Baby Blue. Black. That’s it right? You may get the odd green in Minnesota or teal in San Jose but beyond that the color spectrum in the NHL is boring. That’s why the Nashville yellow home jersey is a nice bit of fresh air.
The yellow is bright and bold but not an ugly shade of yellow like say mustard color… And the little touches on the uniform such as the ‘strings’ on the numbers and piano keys on the inside collar (which considering I loved the Tampa Bay Lightning victory stripes, my love for the inside the collar touch shouldn’t shock anyone) are such great additions to an already cool looking sweater.
It’s just a shame a team as lame as the Nashville Predators wears it.
